Coming Soon: Virtual Annual Meeting Week 2020

In normal times, this email would be full of “know before you go” information leading up to our annual, in-person gathering. But these are different times. So we are bringing you “know before you connect” details instead. We can’t wait to see you online during Virtual Annual Meeting Week (VAMW) 2020, which .

Here’s a preview of what you can expect.

VAMW Kicks Off April 6

During the week April 6-10, we’ll deliver a daily email full of opportunities to celebrate anatomy. Look for it in your inbox!

Anatomy as Art

A volunteer panel of judges has selected the best anatomy art from FASEB’s BioArt Scientific Image & Video Competition. We’ll reveal a winner in each daily email.

Peer-to-Peer Virtual Learning

Are you offering free, open access, online symposia or other events? Let us know now, and we’ll share it with the community at large. Just reply to this email.

Research Recap

The Experimental Biology (EB) lineup was filled with meaningful research. We’ll share some of it in VAMW articles. If you’ve developed a press release for your research, please submit it by replying to this email.

There’s More in Store

VAMW is about you and how you’re advancing the science of anatomy – please participate! Stay connected to your professional home and to each other: follow the hashtag #Anatomy20 on Twitter, take advantage of your online members-only community, and watch your inbox!

FAQ

Is this the same as the Annual Meeting, only online?

No, VAMW will not replicate the in-person Annual Meeting. VAMW is a uniquely different opportunity we created for members to engage with each other online.

Will there be session/symposia presentations?

No, this is not a virtual meeting. Rather, it’s a virtual celebration to “fill the void” left by EB’s cancellation.

Can I still present my poster?

EB is inviting poster presenters to upload their e-posters for online access – watch for a separate email from EB. A platform for poster presentations will not be offered. Instead, you are welcome to get creative on your own! For example, upload a short presentation to YouTube or create a Twitter thread to discuss your research. Remember, poster design is not dictated by AAA or EB, so if you want to change it up (especially for digital consumption), go for it!

Will my abstract be published even though EB 2020 was cancelled?

Yes, accepted abstracts will be published in The FASEB Journal, April 2020.

Can I submit my research elsewhere, or resubmit to EB 2021?

Yes, you may edit or update your research for publication elsewhere. Details about submitting session proposals to EB 2021 will be announced during VAMW.

When will I be refunded for my EB 2020 registration?

Everyone who registered to attend EB 2020 will receive a full refund. EB has started processing refunds, which will take a few weeks to complete. Once your registration cancellation is processed, you will receive confirmation via email. Thank you for your patience!

How can I interact with colleagues during VAMW?

We encourage online interaction to maintain connection! Suggestions include:
